Network Solutions has launched a web developer community, it was reported recently. Currently in Beta, the community, known as “LinkTogether” (http://www.LinkTogether.com), is designed to allow members to “share ideas, resources and score more work through a highly visible member portfolio”.
"LinkTogether is free to join and there's so much to take advantage of," said Warren Smith, Product Director at Network Solutions. "In my spare time, I run my own web design agency so I can verify the usefulness of the tools offered and possible connections to be made in a web developer community like this one."
LinkTogether members create a profile which allows them to display their portfolios. Profiles are “optimized to be found by searches on that member's services and expertise”. The service allows members to applications, templates and “other items shared by others in the community”. “Pro” membership is available for a monthly subscription and provides access “over 7,000 website templates, 300 turnkey websites, 100,000 graphical elements, more than 40 customizable legal and business documents”. Pro membership also offers “exclusive pricing on services from Network Solutions”.
"One of the major benefits of LinkTogether is the ability to connect with other developers and designers for discussions, advice and tips," added Mr. Smith. "Members can also increase their own knowledge base with educational resources that include whitepapers and video tutorials, and improve client conversations using the site's Smart Guides and professional educational videos."
Network Solutions offers a range of services that include web hosting, web design, e-commerce software, search engine marketing, SSL certificates, email services, and domain name registration.
