Web Host ServInt Meets Green Goals for 2008

The company, which bills itself as a “pioneering provider of high-reliability web hosting for businesses worldwide”, launched a series of initiatives designed to “help customers operate with minimal environmental impact” in June 2008.

ServInt’s Green Initiative programs included offsetting the total carbon footprint of its entire line of Virtual Private Server (VPS) solutions by at least 110%. To achieve this, the company embarked on a reforestation campaign operated by American Forests. In addition, the company exceeded environmental standards for recycling recyclable components, and the company used of Dell low-voltage server hardware for two of its most popular hosting services - SuperVPS and UltimateVPS. Using this technology the company was able to ensure low per-capita energy consumption through efficient virtualization.
