January 16, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host SingleHop experienced 673% growth in 2008, the company announced recently. The Chicago, Illinois, USA-based company experienced both revenue and client-base growth and despite only being established in late 2006, it currently has customers in over 40 countries and revenues of $4.5 million.

"Many factors contributed to our growth, one of which being our selection of Chicago as a home base,” explained SingleHop’s President and CEO, Zak Boca. “The talent pool here is outstanding, and existing infrastructures for high-tech companies like ours to flourish already exist."

Alongside its revenue and customer growth, SingleHop grew its staff by “over 600%” from 2007 to 2008 and expects to “add an additional 15 jobs in the first half of 2009 in Chicago”. The company utilizes more than 1,500 servers and achieved GAAP profitability in the 3rd quarter of 2008.

"Despite the economic downturn, we are going to move forward with additional investments in our development and our customer service departments. We're hopeful that 2009 will be another fruitful year for us," added Mr. Boca.

In 2008 SingleHop developed and deployed a range of new technologies, including the LEAP webtop, and advanced automatic server provisioning (AASP). In 2009 the company plans to introduce SingleHop.mobi, an “iPhone application for server management, LEAP Developer API, and the opening of a new data center facility”.
