Web Host Sitestar Buys DONOBi’s Customers and Assets

November 4, 2008
November 4, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host Sitestar (http://www.sitestar.com) has bought the customers and assets of DONOBi, it was reported recently. As well as DONOBi’s web hosting and collocation customers, the purchase includes dial-up, DSL and high-speed fiber optic Internet customers. This latest acquisition means that Sitestar has made substantial acquisitions in each quarter of the 2008 fiscal year.

"The DONOBi transaction includes an attractive mix of high-profit, 'sticky' residential and business customers and a compelling choice of broadband solutions that we can promote to win new customers or offer to existing customers who require faster connectivity," explained Sitestar’s CEO, Frank R. Erhartic, Jr. "We are particularly enthusiastic about the fiber service because it is growable, has minimal customer churn and the PUD is currently increasing the fiber optic network footprint. Plus, fiber is the perfect conduit to deliver additional recurring revenue service opportunities like VoIP or IPTV, whose viability we are investigating."

Fiber Optic Internet rides over local utility infrastructure to provide broadband services that compete with cable, DSL and wireless as far as speed, performance and cost are concerned. Fiber optic also supports VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and IPTV (Internet Protocol Television).

Sitestar is headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA and caters to customers throughout the US and Canada. The company “expects a smooth and seamless transition” and “plans to consolidate infrastructure from its existing regional customer base to reduce operating expenses”.
