Web Host TransIP Acquires Managed Services and Shared Hosting Provider IT-Ernity
Web host TransIP has acquired managed services and shared hosting provider IT-Ernity Internet Services (IT-Ernity). TransIP, which has headquarters in Leiden in the Netherlands, was established in 2003. The company prides itself on “independent and autonomous” services that are accessible by the “novice techie” or the “diehard techie”. These services extend to traditional web hosting, colocation, Virtual Private Server (VPS) options, reseller hosting and cloud packages. It also sells domain names. TransIP acquired IT-Ernity from its former owner, private equity company VSS.

IT-Ernity, which has headquarters in Zwolle, Overijssel, Netherlands, was established in 1999. An independent ISP, it offers a range of hosting-related services. As with TransIP, these include services such as colocation, dedicated servers, managed services and cloud options. Its suite of offerings also includes outsourced services like system administration, protection, security, and application management options. Over recent years IT-Ernity made a total of 14 acquisitions including companies like Dutch cloud infrastructure provider CloudVPS and networking and VoIP services provider Signet. Financial aspects of the deal were not released.

TransIP’s acquisition of IT-Ernity will enhance its position in the domestic Dutch IT market as well as extend its international reach in Europe. It will add 60,000 customers to the company’s books and make its total customer-base around 400,000 contracts.
