Web Host Web HSP Introduces Service for PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
Web host Web HSP has introduced a new service designed for ecommerce vendors, small businesses and web hosts that need PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance. PCI DSS is a set of security standards designed to ensure organizations that handle credit card information do so safely and securely. Web HSP's service aims to simplify the complex compliance process for these standards.

The Seattle-based company's new service stores credit card information in "data vaults" and allows users to access customer credit card information from any website within its system. The information in these vaults can also be stored on any computer (again within Web HSP's system), and information is impossible to decrypt should it fall outside the system.

Web HSP's new solution can be added to any application and integrates payment gateways such as Paypal, Payflow Pro, Authorize.net and iPay. To help businesses set the solution up, the company's technicians help business owners match credit card fields in customized templates. “With highly publicized data breaches trending up, business owners need to take a much closer look at credit card security and PCI DSS compliance,” Web HSP CEO Doug Davis. “Whether a vendor is new to e-commerce, or has concerns about their current PCI DSS compliance status, handling it alone exposes their company to significant risk.”
