14 July 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting magazine Ping! Zine (http://www.pingzine.com) has announced it is organizing what it is calling the first Web Hosting Charity Golf Tournament at HostingCon. Among assorted prizes Ping! Zine is offering a grand prize of $1,000. Web Host Magazine and Buyer's Guide and DesignVAR are also sponsoring the event. Contestants who putt a ball from a specified distance will be included in the grand prize draw.
“As a company based in Louisiana, I think it’s safe to say we spend too much time on the golf course as it is,” said Keith Duncan, Ping! Zine publisher. “But we’re still very excited to bring the excitement of golf to this year’s conference.”
Ping! Zine has also announced plans for an invitational golf tournament, to be held in New Orleans in Spring of 2007 to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children network.
“As we begin planning next year’s event, we are looking forward to the positive impact it will have on not only the charity it will directly benefit, but also on the entire city of New Orleans as it begins to recover from the hurricanes of 2005,” added Mr. Duncan.
