CentralNic Ltd. (CentralNic) has bought domain registrar OnlyDomains for AUS$33 million ($24 million). CentralNic, whose global headquarters are in Moorgate, London, United Kingdom, offers a wide range of domain name services covering ccTLDs, SLDs and the recent batch of new TLDs to be released to the market (including .site, .online and .xyz). The company also offers a wide range of hosting services. CentralNic trades on the London Stock Exchange and this is its second registrar acquisition after buying Internet.bs for $7.5 million in 2014.
OnlyDomains is part of the Instra Group and offers domain and hosting services designed to “help small businesses succeed in the internet age”. CentralNic will absorb OnlyDomains’ staff and management team as well as its “associated companies” which include operations in Melbourne, Australia and Napier, New Zealand. Desleigh Jameson, the CEO of OnlyDomains, will become the head of CentralNic’s global retail operations and a member of CentralNic’s board.
