Web Hosting Company One.com Receives Investment for US Business Activity
Web hosting company One.com has received equity investment designed to allow it to do business in the United States. The company, which has US headquarters in Reston, Virginia, USA and a presence in a number of countries including Denmark, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, India and Spain, offers 'one-stop' website packages that include website hosting, web editor, and a WordPress installation alongside FTP, PHP, MySQL, SSH and SFTP. The company recently won the concession to manage the new ".One" gTLD.

Established in 2002, One.com focuses on offering simple hosting solutions that can be managed by entry-level users with smaller sites, but which can also cater for larger sites if necessary. The company caters to a customer base of 1.3 million users mainly in Europe. Its US offerings will include hosting with 15 GB of storage, a domain name, and a website builder - all offered free of charge for the initial year of service.

The company's funding has been provided by private equity firms Accel-KKR and ATP Private Equity Partners. The investment will fuel its US launch and maintain its "product innovation". It will also be used to accelerate growth in the company's European activity. Financial aspects of the deal were not released.
