October 27, 2005 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Philadelphia-based 1&1 Internet, Inc. has announced it has increased the number of features available through its shared web hosting packages without passing costs to customers. The initiative is part of a campaign of adding value to products and services and comes in the wake of a similar initiative launched in September when a range of additional features were added to 1&1 Internets domain registration packages without increasing package costs.
Improvements to 1&1s various hosting plans include increased web space and traffic allowances, the inclusion of more databases alongside 2GB of email storage space. 1&1 also provides ASP or PHP scripts and free .info, .com, .net and .org domain registration. The companys popular Home Package now offers 5000 MB web space, 250 GB of traffic and 500 mailboxes.
These arent publicity stunts or marketing ploys, these are now our standard products and prices, said 1&1 Chairman Andreas Gauger. We are in a position of strength in the industry, and that allows us to offer packages with all of these features at a very low cost and still be profitable. As the worlds largest Web host, it is one of the many advantages customers receive when they choose us.
