Web Hosting Provider 1&1 Internet to Open New Data Center in Kansas City

August 25, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (http://www.1and1.com) plans to open a new data center in Kansas City, it was announced today. The 55,000-square-foot center chosen will employ 15 people and cater for 40,000 servers. It is scheduled to open early 2007.

1&1’s new fully-automated data center is located in Lenexa, Kansas and complements the company’s two rented data centers in New York and New Jersey. The center is required to accommodate 1&1’s growing customer base. “Opening another location besides our headquarters in the Philadelphia area underscores the importance of our U.S. business,” said Andreas Gauger, Chairman, 1&1 Internet. “1&1 will invest up to $9 million in the Lenexa site this year and several millions more in 2007. 1&1 has found an excellent business climate in Kansas, and we have been enthusiastically welcomed to the Kansas City area. We are looking forward to opening this facility and becoming part of the business community.”
