August 17, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – The domain name registration arm of web hosting provider AIT, AITDomains (http://www.aitdomains.com), is offering customers a head start in obtaining “.Mobi” domains prior to their upcoming launch, the company announced recently. The company is “pre-registering businesses” for the extension which is “dedicated to mobile devices”.
“The “.Mobi” domain puts the web in motion so businesses can reach consumers anywhere, and with PDA’s outnumbering PC’s, that is no small consideration,” suggested AIT’s Chief Executive Officer Clarence Briggs. “dotMOBI dovetails into our Hosted Exchange service that pushes voice, e-mail, and messaging to hand-held devices.” He added, “This is going to create a significant shift in Internet user habits. Imagine global access, from anywhere, anytime.”
“.Mobi” registration starts September 26, 2006. Pre-registration allows domain owners to get the name they want although there are “no guarantees that the desired name can be secured”.
