Web Hosting Provider Cobweb Selects EMC and MTI

December 18, 2006
December 18, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Cobweb has chosen a new storage solution from EMC (http://www.emc.com) and MTI to support delivery of managed services to their customers.

After selecting EMC and its MTI systems integrator, Cobweb purchased two EMC CLARiiON CX700 arrays as its storage area network core to provide redundant storage for Cobweb's multiple Hosted Exchange platforms.

Cobweb increases the number of mailboxes and mailbox data storage capacity to customers on a monthly basis and now has in excess of 4 Terabytes of emails stored in total. With Cobweb's existing storage “starting to come under pressure” the company recognized the need to invest in a new solution to cater for customer demand. The improved capacity has allowed Cobweb to increase mailbox storage when customers purchase additional or new mailboxes.

"The EMC solution was chosen for four reasons," explained Cobweb’s Managing Director, Mark Adams. "First, the very high levels of reliability, performance and scalability of the storage platform, plus the quality of support from our EMC supplier - MTI. The quality and the ease-of-use of the products is very impressive and finally the overall solution, including maintenance and support, provides great value for money."
