Web Hosting Provider Go Daddy Invites to Create Your Own Go Daddy Commercial & Win $100,000

February 23, 2010
February 23, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Go Daddy is inviting you to produce your own Go Daddy commercial as part of a social media contest aimed at generating creative content. The top prize is $100,000 in cash, with second and third place winners receiving $50,000 and $25,000 respectively - matching the highest guaranteed payout of any commercial contest.

Year after year, Go Daddy has entertained Super Bowl viewers with its GoDaddy-esque brand of advertising, which is known as fun, edgy and slightly inappropriate. The polarizing commercials often attract criticism, but have been wildly successful in terms of driving Web traffic and revenue, as well as helping catapult the domain name registrar and Web hosting provider's market share through the roof.

"I've always said, everyone wants to work in marketing," said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. "Now is the time - bring your best work, create your own video and let's see if we can find the next big Go Daddy commercial!"

Parsons is the the driving force behind Go Daddy's legendary Super Bowl advertising campaigns dating back to the 2005 Super Bowl debut for the company. Go Daddy's outspoken CEO and its immensely popular spokesperson, Go Daddy Girl Danica Patrick, will serve as contest judges, selecting the top three commercial contest winners in April.

"It's going to be fun to sit down with Bob and decide the winners," Danica said. "I've been shooting Go Daddy commercials since 2007 and the GoDaddy-esque brand is well-established. I think we are going to get some pretty great entries, especially with all that prize money on the table."

Parsons dramatically boosted the prizes, in true Go Daddy fashion - raising the 'purse' from consisting of various computer and camera equipment to include cash prizes totaling $175,000. Parsons made the move after a Go Daddy customer made the suggestion to Parsons' blog, www.BobParsons.me.

Jared Cicon commented, "We (other advertising professionals and I) would love to write for the Go Daddy brand, but the prize upside has to be bangin' and the current bling ain't working." Parsons read Cicon's comment - as he does all his blog comments - and immediately made the decision to increase prizes for the Create Your Own Go Daddy Commercial Contest.

Go Daddy is calling on the Internet's 'social community' to help determine winners in the Community Favorites and Most Shared categories. Prizes for these categories include a Dell Alienware Area 51 desktop and the highly anticipated M11X laptops, provided by Dell, along with camcorders, software and other items.

Other Go Daddy celebrities will tell the world which commercials are their top picks. Mark Martin, driver of the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevy; Vanessa Russo, Team PokerStars Pro and Go Daddy Girl, as well as NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will post their personal 'favorites' to www.GoDaddy.com/Contest once the contest ends.

So how do you compete? Contest commercials don't need to be professionally produced, but ad professionals are eligible. Ads must be between 15 and 30 seconds in length. Creativity is encouraged, so get out your camcorder, recruit your friends, have some fun and show us what you've got. Commercial submissions are now being accepted at www.GoDaddy.com/Contest.

The public begins voting online March 22 to determine the winners.

"This should be fun, who knows, we might even discover a new Go Daddy Girl," Parsons smiled.

All submissions must be received by April 23, with voting coming to a close May 7. Winners will be announced online at www.GoDaddy.com/Contest in mid-May. Each entrant may only win once. The contest is open to U.S. residents 18 years and older; excluding residents of New York, Florida and Puerto Rico. Check out the official contest rules and submit your commercial online now.
