Web Hosting Provider Go Daddy Now 3rd Largest Shared Host Worldwide

May 19, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Web hosting company and domain registrar GoDaddy.com announced today that it has become the 3rd largest shared hosting provider worldwide, according to Internet security and analyst Netcraft LTD.

Netcraft reports that when Go Daddy entered the shared hosting market in January 2003, it had 21,000 active shared hosting sites. Two years later, in January 2005, Go Daddy's active shared hosting accounts had grown to 383,893, according to Netcraft. And Go Daddy's growth in the shared hosting market has continued unabated, as evidenced by Netcraft's most recent statistics. As of May 2005, Go Daddy has 678,261 shared hosting accounts -- a growth of 76.7% since January. Netcraft further notes that Go Daddy currently hosts twice as many active shared hosting sites as industry pioneers NTT/Verio and Interland.

"Overcoming the industry's pioneers to become the 3rd largest shared hosting provider worldwide clearly demonstrates that we are well on our way to making the name "Go Daddy" as synonymous with premier hosting services, as the name is for domain registration services," said Bob Parsons, president and founder of The Go Daddy Group, named the fastest growing technology company (ranked # 8 overall) on the Inc. 500 List of America's Fastest Growing Private Companies.

"Of course, we have every intention of driving continued meteoric growth until such time as we reach the no. 1 position worldwide." Parsons added, "Most recently, Go Daddy has entered the dedicated and virtual dedicated hosting markets, and once again, our goal is to become the leader in those markets by providing the best products at the most competitive prices, combined with the highest quality 24x7 customer support. We welcome all of these challenges."
