April 25, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Go Daddy is to sponsor Indy 500 on national US TV channel ABC, it was reported yesterday. The company will be the presenting sponsor during the Indianapolis 500 broadcast in May. Go Daddy is better known for its Super Bowl commercials but decided to venture into Indy 500 after CEO and Founder Bob Parsons asked Indy racing start Danica Patrick to become a company spokesperson and official Go Daddy Girl.
Im excited to be a Go Daddy Girl. Im happy Go Daddy stepped up to be the presenting Indy 500 broadcast sponsor this year, said Patrick. Its good for our sport to have a world leader, like Go Daddy, involved in such a high-profile way. I love watching Danica drive shes fun, fast and edgy. Shes GoDaddy-esque, added Mr. Parsons.
Ms. Patrick, who last week was voted Sexiest Female Athlete for 2007 by Victoria Secret, races for Andretti Green Racing and is the first woman to lead the Indy 500. This years competition will include three women drivers.
The Indianapolis 500 broadcast presented by GoDaddy.com will be shown live on Sunday, May 27 at 1 p.m. EDT on ABC TV.
