Web Hosting Provider Host Color Adds Discussion Board to Plans

March 26, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Host Color (http://www.hostcolor.com) has added a discussion board to its plans, it was announced yesterday. The "Simple Machines Forum" (SMF) community software will now be a standard feature of all of the company’s plans, and can be installed using the company's “PowerTools” proprietary advanced web hosting application.

"I would like to create a forum. What kind of software to choose? This is one of the questions that people ask very often in discussion boards around the web. One of the best answers is "Simple Machines Forum (SMF)", explained Host Color LLC’s Marketing Director, Alexander Avramov.

SMF is PHP-based and uses a MySQL database. It is a very flexible discussion board which provides a number of templates that allow users to customize look and feel. It also offers SSI (Server Side Includes) which “simplifies interaction between the forum and other parts of the website”.

Other solutions available through PowerTools include the MODx, Drupal, Joomla and TextPattern CMS solutions, WordPress and B2evolution blog platforms, Pligg and MediaWiki social media; phpBB, Vanilla and SMF forums, the OpenX ad management system, and Image gallery scripts. In addition, Host Color offers LimeSurvey, an advanced multilingual survey tool.

Based in Delaware, USA, Host Color caters to thousands of “small business and personal websites” through its data centers in South Bend, Indiana, USA, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The company also provides fully managed dedicated hosting through HC Servers (http://www.hcservers.net). The company offers 6 months complimentary usage to customers of its premier shared hosting plans, and also offers discounts to academics and non-governmental organizations.
