Web Hosting Provider HostMySite.com and Mozilla Celebrate Two-Hundred-Millionth Download of Firefox

September 29, 2006
September 29, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider HostMySite.com (http://www.hostmysite.com) and Mozilla are celebrating the two-hundred-millionth download of Firefox, it was announced recently. HostMySite.com provides SpreadFirefox, the online Firefox volunteer community, with free managed and dedicated hosting to assist them in spreading news about the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

With two hundred million downloads of the web browser SpreadFirefox has launched a new website called Fox Tales (http://www.thefoxtales.com) where users can “share stories of how they spread the word about Firefox”. HostMySite has deployed a multi-server hosting setup with load-balanced servers to assist the site. The objective is to allow 50,000 simultaneous visitors to view the website without impacting the quality of the visitor experience.

According to the company, like Firefox, HostMySite.com relies mainly on word of mouth for business growth. "We see a lot of similarities between the loyalty of the Firefox community and HostMySite.com customers," said Jason Morris, Director of Sales for HostMySite.com. "Our customers regularly send us unsolicited testimonials. Many of them can't believe the dedication our customer support team shows to their business. In fact, we receive so many that we added a section to our own website to share these experiences."

"This contribution is our way of helping Mozilla achieve their goals of offering a superior web browser and email software, and improving Internet technology and standards," added Mr. Morris.
