Web Hosting Provider Hurricane Electric Opens Co-location Facility

March 16, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Hurricane Electric (http://www.he.net), an internet backbone provider whose services include web hosting, has announced the opening of a new co-location facility. Located in Silicon Valley, the new 208,000-square-foot facility is the latest of three co-location facilities established by Hurricane Electric, the others being in Fremont, California and New York.

"This is an exciting time of growth for Hurricane Electric. Our customers have eagerly anticipated the opening of this new facility. Its size alone will allow us to serve our customers growing demand for colocation space and managed data housing well into the future. And, with our proximity to so many major networks, we anticipate becoming a significant global epicenter of Internet traffic," suggested Hurricane Electric’s President, Mike Leber.

Hurricane Electric’s new facility boasts HVAC environmental systems with upflow air-conditioning, conditioned uninterruptible power and back-up generators, a security system with digital video surveillance and a card key system that monitors access. Customers have the choice of shared and private suites with 19-inch rack mountable cabinets and high-powered fans.
