Web Hosting Provider Layered Technologies Announces Second Major Product Release this June

June 26, 2008
June 26, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Layered Technologies has announced its “second major product release this June”, it was reported yesterday. The announcement was made at the second annual LT PACT conference. Working in conjunction with Microsoft, the company has become the first web hosting provider offering Hyper-V (a hypervisor-based technology previously known as Viridian); a Windows Server 2008 feature that allows “virtualization of multiple operating systems”, including Windows and Linux, all on the same server.

Layered Technologies will provide Microsoft Hyper-V GoLive Beta Program and Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) members with dedicated servers in an “on-demand” environment. As a member of the MSDN community, or a GoLive Partner, customers will receive an exclusive monthly discount on the Microsoft Hyper-V-enabled hosting packages.
“We are excited to be a part of Microsoft's ongoing effort to provide customers and partners with the best operating system platform for virtualization,” explained Layered Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer, Jack Finlayson. “We worked closely with Microsoft to be the first hosting providers to rapidly deploy this technology. In bringing virtualization to the market, we are looking to help businesses consolidate resources, reduce support costs, and decrease operations expenses.”

“The mainstream acceptance of virtualization provides a new level of sought-after features for administrators,” added Layered Technologies’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Aaron Phillips. “As the technology has matured, a hosted virtualization offering through our relationship with Microsoft was a natural progression.”

Layered Technology’s will also offer a managed Hyper-V product service once the solution is officially released out of beta around September 2008.
