Web Hosting Provider MYOB Acquires SmartyHost

August 20, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider MYOB (http://www.myob.com.au) is “expanding its web hosting and Internet marketing services” through the acquisition of SmartyHost (http://www.smartyhost.com.au), it was announced today. The move comes on the heels of the company’s purchase of Ilisys earlier this year and positions it for “growth in the web hosting sector”. MYOB will continue the SmartyHost brand.

“This acquisition represents a further evolution of our business and means we will be able to assist small businesses even more,” explained MYOB’s CEO, Mr. Tim Reed. “Our overarching strategy is to web enable Australian small businesses. “Our research shows that 59% of Australian small businesses don’t currently have a website,” added Mr. Reed. “Through the acquisition of SmartyHost we can now deliver a basic website and domain name package to Australian businesses starting from under $100 per year.”
