March 18, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider Plexicom (http://www.plexicomm.net/) is helping the City of Binghamton in New York, USA provide free wireless in its Downtown area. Binghamton Wi-Fi is another step forward in the Citys efforts to renew the Downtown core, and I applaud my staff and our community partners for their collaborative efforts, commented Binghamton Mayor, Matt Ryan, after the March 6, 2008 launch.
Wireless Internet capabilities are important for many of those who live, study and work Downtown - including entrepreneurs, students and artists, added Mr. Ryan. The Wi-Fi hotspot adds greater attraction to a growing, vital urban core.
Binghamton Wi-Fi is helping the City bridge the digital divide, and will lead to more Downtown activity by all sectors of our community, added Lea Webb, a City Council member. I look forward to seeing people logging onto the Internet all around the Downtown area.
Located in Binghamton, Plexicom offers a range of Windows and Linux hosting plans alongside services such as colocation and domain name registration.
