The building where the new center will be housed is powered by electrify generated from “wood chips and fiber fuel” – both regarded as “renewable biomass energy sources”.

Established in 1998, Rackspace provides managed services to around 10,000 customers through eight data centers. The company’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. John Engates, was reported as saying that as Rackspace grows, the company intends to utilize as many means possible to “conserve power or utilize renewable energy sources”.
