Web Hosting Provider Springs Hosting to Add R1Soft Continuous Data Protection

January 16, 2009
January 16, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Springs Hosting will add R1Soft Continuous Data Protection to its offerings, it was reported recently. The company, whose services include “website and email hosting, dedicated servers, colocation and data center services”, will implement CDP for MySQL, Windows and Linux, enabling users to “back up critical systems offsite for quick restoration in the event of a disaster”.

The service will be made available to customers for its web hosting and email services, and offered “as an add-on” for the company’s colocation customers. According to the company, “R1Soft CDP gives Springs Hosting an all-inclusive set of tools to accomplish the same task that previously involved the purchase of several different software products”.

After nearly two years of testing different backup solutions, Springs Hosting finally chose to utilize R1Soft CDP as their main interface for all clients facility-wide,” explained Springs Hosting’s CIO, Jeremy Keefe. “The sheer speed and ease of use in the deployment of R1Soft throughout the facility was a huge factor in our final decision. On top of that, it required very minimal training within our staff.”

“We’re pleased to see that R1Soft CDP has successfully aided the Springs Hosting staff in more efficiently administering backups,” added R1Soft Vice President, David Wartell. “We expect CDP will demonstrate to be an invaluable add-on service going forward.”
