Web Hosting Provider Ubiquity Offers Shell Web Hosting with .NET Framework

June 22, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Ubiquity Hosting Solutions (http://www.ubiquityhosting.com) has announced it is offering Shell Web Hosting with .NET Framework. The company, a “free, shared, dedicated, and colocation hosting services” provider, has added SSH user-level access and Linux .NET Framework emulation to its list of advanced hosting features.

“Linux is capable of so much more than what most web hosting companies are doing. We decided that the time had come to start delivering the full potential of what we offer,” suggested Chief Technical Officer for Ubiquity Clint Chapman. The company is providing “jailed shell access” which enables webmasters to use Secured Shell Handling (SSH) and initiate a number of functions (i.e. compress and decompress files on the web server, execute Linux bash scripts, monitor system, etc.).

In addition to SSH, Ubiquity has developed a stable platform for running ASPx scripting from a Linux system using the Mono Project's open source tool. Mono provides the necessary software to develop and run .NET client and server applications on Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X, Windows, and Unix therefore bridging the gap between Linux and Windows web hosting.
