Web Hosting Provider UK2 and Comodo Partner on Free SSLs

October 10, 2007
October 10, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider UK2 and Comodo have partnered on the provision of free SSLs, it was announced yesterday. The companies will work together to provide UK2’s dedicated server customers with “unlimited free SSL Certificates”.

The certificates provide domain validation alongside 128 and 256 bit encryption. According to the companies, the certificates are “trusted by all popular Internet browsers with 99.3% ubiquity”. UK2 customers can acquire free Comodo Positive SSL Certificates through their account control panels.

"As far as I know this is a world first,” explained Ditlev Bredahl, CEO of UK2. “Dedicated Hosting offers are getting more and more similar so at UK2 we wanted to do something different. This offer is a costly one for us, but we will do what it takes to stand out from the crowd and provide our customers with outstanding value for money. This also a killer deal for resellers as they would be able to offer all their end users the benefits of SSL Certificates as well. As a reseller you could sell them, or give them away for free, it’s your choice”

UK2 is part of the UK-2 Group, which provides domain name registration and web hosting services through a number of brands including UK2.net, US2.net and Resell.biz. The company operates its own data centers and plans to provide discounted Extended Validation SSL Certificates.
