June 10, 2006 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider Verio UK has announced that it has won a government contract that will bring in revenues of around 6 million pounds. The company will offer “web hosting, managed security and content distribution services to outsourcing and technology expert Xansa”. The infrastructure Verio establishes will benefit three UK government departments - Directgov (Cabinet Office), the Department of Health and the Department of Education and Skills (DfES). The departments will be able to “share development resources, create common functionality and allow re-use of components within the platform”.
