The site provides web hosting providers and their customers an “objective venue to resolve disputes and rate customer support performance,” and has certified 500 hosts since inception in 2004.
The site is free-of-charge to users and current owner DWC Network (http://www.dwcnetwork.com/) cannot continue to bear costs related to running the site. The company’s hope is to “sell the site to an organization who can continue to operate it as a service to the hosting industry”.
“Geek Certified has offered the hosting industry an important service for the past several years. By remaining objective and unbiased, we were able to not only resolve disputes between hosts and customers, but also provide prospective hosting buyers with an important glimpse into the company they were considering doing business with,” explained Lead Developer Dan Luria. “We’re hoping to find a buyer who can continue to promote our three core values—honesty, integrity, and trust.”
