Website Backup Service CodeGuard Announces Launch of Malware Monitoring and Remediation Service
Website backup service CodeGuard, Inc. (CodeGuard) has announced the launch of its new malware monitoring and remediation service, MalwareGone. CodeGuard, which has headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, bills itself as “the global leader in cloud website backup services”. The company provides backup services through a number of web hosts, including HostGator. It is noted for its ChangeAlert monitoring service.

ChangeAlert monitors websites on a daily basis and establishes what file changes have been made. The solution sends a change alert by email to website owners as changes occur. Alongside CodeGuard, MalwareGone offers “the potential to transform website protection”.

MalwareGone offers insights into zero-day attacks and provides automatic fixes when malware compromises a site. The new service includes “patented technology” which automatically uses backups of websites to fix website malware issues. The system uses “actionable intelligence” derived from ChangeAlerts to determine which files on a website might contain malware. It can discover viruses, trojans, rootkits and spyware as well as “early-life and next-generation malware”.

“MalwareGone has been a long time coming – we have been waiting for years to release this product”, explained CodeGuard’s CEO David Moeller. “The reason there isn’t a product like this on the market is that its foundation is our patented backup technology, which obviously no one else possesses.”
