SiteLock LLC has launched a mobile application that enables its customers to monitor the security status of websites and enables users to address a number of security issues through handheld devices. The company, which has headquarters in St. Johns, Florida, released the application as a response to the increasing number of business people who do their work using mobile phones and tablets, and as a proactive measure to support customers who use such devices to work when away from their offices. The application enables users to scan websites and contact SiteLock support if problems occur that are deemed serious enough. The application supports multiple websites and is available from the Apple iPhone App Store free of charge.
SiteLock helps small businesses secure websites - especially those that collect credit card information and must meet PCI Security Council standards - by offering scanning and firewall protection solutions. Established in 2008, SiteLock protects against a range of threats such as viruses, spam, and malware, and other threats highlighted by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top Ten Project. SiteLock support teams deal with systems infected by malware and also provide services to strengthen platforms against any possible subsequent attacks. The company has a global customer base of 700,000 with 10 million web pages scanned daily for threats.
