Web Hosting Provider WestHost Upgrades Packages
May 21, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider WestHost (http://www.westhost.com) has upgraded its hosting packages, it was announced today. The company has also announced the launch of a new hosting platform as part of its upgrade. According to the company, the enhancements have been “under development for over a year” and offer users “improved server resource management, a redesigned control panel and a solid basis for future deployments”.
"We carefully listened to our client base in implementing changes to Site Manager, along with targeting our performance improvements," explained WestHost’s CEO, Mr. Chris Russell. "In addition, the new platform allows WestHost to remain at the industry forefront, offering the latest solutions at the best possible value to our clients."
WestHost suggests this is the third upgrade the company has carried out in the nine years since its launch. The new platform is based on RedHat ES 4 and introduces a number of performance and reliability enhancements. Additional technology ensures each of the company’s hosting accounts receives a “fair share of server processing power” to maintain “reliable website responsiveness”. In addition, a new Site Manager interface offers simplified navigation.
Alongside WestHost’s system upgrade, the company is also offering improved shared, reseller and dedicated server hosting plans with improved resource allotments for disk space, and bandwidth “more than doubled”. The improvements have been made without passing additional costs to customers. MediaWiki, a “fully-featured application for building a Wiki-based site” is now standard through WestHost’s Starter hosting plan and above. In addition, its Business Pro plan now includes the Helix DNA Server - a media streaming service for RealAudio, RealVideo and MP3 files.
