Web Host and Search Engine Yahoo! Inc. has a new Vice President of Marketplace Quality
March 23, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host and search engine Yahoo! Inc. has a new Vice President of Marketplace Quality, the company announced yesterday. Mr. Reggie Davis has taken on the role and will be responsible for “continually enhancing the quality of Yahoo!'s display and search listings marketplaces”.
Mr. Davis will be involved in “developing and executing a strategy aimed at driving more rapid innovation, greater transparency and faster delivery of product and service enhancements to build an even higher quality advertising network for Yahoo!'s customers.” Mr. Davis will manage a new team that will “manage across all of Yahoo!'s cross-functional quality teams” to ensure customer input becomes an integral component of future developments. Alongside quality per se, the team will consider issues such as click fraud, traffic quality, and network placement.
"Reggie brings a deep background in quality, extensive knowledge of Yahoo!, a history of involvement in a very diverse set of operational issues across the company and the experience of hearing first-hand about what's important to our customers," explained Susan Decker, head of Yahoo!’s Advertiser & Publisher Group, where Mr. Davis will operate. "By organizing our various marketplace quality teams and initiatives under Reggie's leadership, we are confident that we can even more effectively protect our advertisers, more quickly align publisher interests with those of advertisers and deliver on our commitment to quality more rapidly than ever."
Mr. Davis, who holds a BA from Harvard College and a JD from Tulane Law School, has worked with Yahoo! on a range of quality and security initiatives since January 2000. "In seven years at Yahoo!, I've never seen a more important opportunity to partner with our customers to increase the value of our industry," he explained. "With our industry-leading technologies, cross-functional teams and strong executive commitment behind these initiatives, I'm very excited to lead the quality of Yahoo!'s advertising marketplaces to the next level."
