Zhou Jingren Joins Cloud Computing and Data Management Services Provider Alibaba Cloud
In a move designed to enhance its ‘Big Data’ and Artificial Intelligence (AI) activity, Zhou Jingren has joined cloud computing and data management services provider Alibaba Cloud (AliCloud).

AliCloud is Alibaba Group Holding Ltd's cloud-computing arm. Established in 2009 it has headquarters in Hangzhou, China and with 500,000 customers it is China’s largest cloud provider. Alongside cloud options its services extend to storage, security, and database management alongside ecommerce and big data solutions. Mr. Jingren will join the company as Chief Scientist.

Zhou Jingren is a graduate of Columbia University and has previously worked with Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft he worked on the team responsible for the Bing search engine and was also involved in Microsoft’s ‘Big Data’ activity. At AliCloud he will be in charge of establishing platforms that will allow businesses to use the company’s big data services and will be in charge of research teams in both Hangzhou, Beijing, China and Seattle, Washington, United States.
