Avoid Gate.com at all costs
I was a Gate.com customer for over 20 years (back when they were Hostway). This year, my VPS became corrupted, and technical support was unable to fix the problem. They set-up a new VPS, but it couldn't support the basic version of PHP required by Wordpress.

Gate suggested I go to one of their "sister companies" instead. They refunded me for the original VPS, but they claim I didn't respond to a cancelation request for the second VPS - even though I confirmed the request to agents by phone multiple times.

Over 5 months, I've lost track of the number of hours talking to their support or customer service reps. There are some good people there, but the overall service and experience have been completely abysmal.

Gate.com has been hacked. Their "techies" are so outdated that they still use Windows 2003 ("but we're updating to Windows 2012 soon!"). All gate users - check your website's source code: you'll find hackers have added www.cheapjerseys.com & the like

Forhonor.com site hosting has been fantastic
We have been using gate.com to host our daughter's author web site: www.forhonor.com. The site has been on-line since she published her first book, For Honor, in 2004. The service has always been great. I don't believe that the site has ever been down.
