Vancouver, Canada-based hosting solutions provider Canadian Web Hosting Inc. (Canadian Web Hosting
) is now a member of the Vancouver Internet Exchange, or VANIX. Canadian Web Hosting, a SSAE 16 Type II SOC 1 certified company, was established in 1998. The company predominantly caters to Canadian enterprises and offers services that include Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and dedicated server options. The company also offers cloud and shared hosting services underpinned by a 100% network uptime guarantee. Canadian Web Hosting joined VANIX as a mean of extending the reach if its CloudStream Canadian network backbone.
A not-for-profit organization, VANIX is a “neutral and independent” Internet Exchange that brings together the IP networks of web hosts, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and other organizations like Content Delivery Service Providers (CDSPs). VANIX provides a peering platform that allows IP networks to “interconnect directly and exchange Internet traffic freely between their networks through mutual peering agreements”.
Canadian Web Hosting’s CloudStream service offers a gigabit of ethernet connections to provide high levels of performance and network scalability. CloudStream is also highly secure, with no potential for data moving onto the public internet. Additionally, the network is 100% Canadian, overcoming issues related to data sovereignty. It also has the capacity to manage services which require high levels of resources including “cloud hosting, IoT, video, enterprise apps and virtual reality (VR) apps”.
"As a leading service provider in infrastructure and cloud hosting services, we understand many of our new and existing customers' pain points," explained Canadian Web Hosting’s Chief Strategy Officer, Matt McKinney. "With so many emerging technologies coming to the forefront that require low latency and high capacity network links, we believe that by joining VANIX our customers are well positioned for the next phase of application and IoT hosting and will be able to meet the most demanding requirements."
