July 24, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider The Planet has recorded a record second quarter 2007, it was announced yesterday. The Planet produced another record revenue quarter, continuing its inception-to-date string of sequential record quarters, explained Kevin Klausmeyer, the companys Chief Financial Officer. We also realized an increase in the quarterly revenue growth rate for the first time since the merger of the predecessor companies. Gross margins once again reached a new quarterly high due to continued synergies and leverage.
Highlights of The Planets second quarter include 1,000+ new leased server customers, the appointments of Johnny K. Vincent and Steve Reichert into new executive positions, the introduction of the companys Microsoft Business Unit, and a range of new products, including the addition of enterprise-class NetApp FAS systems storage to its private rack solution, Dell PowerEdge 840 servers featuring Intels Xeon 3040 Conroe dual-core processors and Cogent unmetered bandwidth. The company also launches a new blog and a new video tour of The Planets premises. The company also released two white papers during the period, on titled The Small Business Transition to Hosted Technology: Costs vs. Benefits and the other titled How SMBs Can Increase eCommerce Revenue and Decrease IT Costs.
