Brian Stein has joined
Rackspace. The company, whose head office is in Windcrest, Texas, United States, specializes in providing managed cloud services and bills itself leveraging solutions provided by companies like AWS, Microsoft, OpenStack, and VMware to help businesses “tap the power of cloud computing without the challenge and expense of managing complex IT infrastructure and application platforms”. Mr. Stein joins the company as its Vice President of Global Engineering.
Mr. Stein is a 15-year industry veteran whose areas of expertise include the development of Open Source solutions. He also specializes in the areas of project management and user experience. Before joining Rackspace he worked with Puppet Labs in the role of Senior Vice President of Engineering. Before Rackspace he worked with Red Hat as Vice President of Engineering. At Red Hat he was responsible for OpenStack, Xen and kvm and helped the company’s transition to the cloud. He has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from The State University of New York Binghamton in Vestal, New York, United States.
