December's exclusive interview with Director of Business Development of BPath.com, Mr. Shahar Jacobi. He shares experience with us about how he leads Bpath to be one major player in web hosting industry, especially for "world-class" private label services.

  • HOSTSEARCH: Could you please briefly about yourself and your role for Bpath.com?
    SHAHAR: As the director of business development of Bpath, my day consists of 2 major activities:

    a. Establishing partnerships with hosting providers and domain registrars, having them offer our private label marketing tools to their customers.

    b. Developing new products and improving the current ones, attempting to both maximize the revenue of our partners and offer the best marketing tools to their customers.

  • HOSTSEARCH: Could you please share with us when was Bpath.com found? How did the company get started?
    SHAHAR: Bpath was established in 1997 as an international website services provider, focused on helping small businesses and webmasters to succeed on the Web. Bpath (formally known as HyperBanner) established the largest international ad network, allowing website owners to exchange traffic with each other while driving targeted traffic to their website, for free.
    During 1998, Bpath shifted its focus to its current main activity, which is providing private label search engine submission and marketing tools to web hosts and domain registrars. Since 1998, Bpath has been providing its private label marketing services to the leading Web hosts and domain registrars, such as Web.com, FortuneCity, Dotster, DomainDirect, Hosting.com, Stargate Inc, NetNation, RegisterFly, NamesCo and many more in the US, Canada and Europe.
  • HOSTSEARCH: What is the main reason/influence for you to focus on particular private label service?
    SHAHAR: During 1998, we spotted a need in the Web hosting industry for add-on services that will both expand the web hosts offering and will generate new revenue stream. Once this need was spotted, we wrapped our award-wining marketing tools with a private label platform, a platform that enables us to customize each of our services, in a matter of hours, to the look & feel of any website. The beauty of our solution is that it requires no work on the partner's part and actually provides a full solution: from the landing page, through signup and payment and ends with customer service, all with the look & feel of the partner's website.
  • HOSTSEARCH: How do you promote your business/website among small business owners & webmasters?
    SHAHAR: We do not invest efforts in promoting our services directly to small business owners and webmasters. We focus on partnering with web hosts and domain registrars and once a certain partnership is established, it is easy for the partner to promote its new private label services to its customers, as a new add-on to its product line. The advantage of the private labeling enables our partners to treat our services as another product of their own, which makes it easier for them to promote it among their customers.

  • HOSTSEARCH: What's your best selling products/service of your company?
    SHAHAR: No questions about it - our search engine submission and optimization service, HyperSubmit, is the best selling service of Bpath. It allows any website owner to gain proper search engine listing for his/her website, which is the first and most vital part of online promotion. One of the unique features of our product is the personal keywords research that is applied by our marketing professionals, where we find the best keywords to use by reviewing the website and its competitors, in conjunction with our innovative research technology. We take a great consideration in keywords research, as once a website is optimized according to the right keywords - the success is guaranteed.
  • HOSTSEARCH: Please define your marketing strategies. What do you think that is your strength for Bpath.com, compare to your major competitors?
    SHAHAR: Our private labeled marketing platform and its flexibility are the strength of Bpath. The platform was built and is constantly being improved with one goal - providing the best solution to our partners, a solution that will enable them to integrate our search engine submission services into their product line with no hassle and no cost. Each partner that integrates our services immediately generates new revenue stream, revenue that becomes a pure profit.
  • HOSTSEARCH: As international marketing services provider, what is the most challenging for you to be succeed in this industry?
    SHAHAR: Our private labeled marketing services are integrated in Web hosts worldwide, many of which are from France, Italy and Spain. As such, Bpath is providing its private labeled marketing platform also in French, Italian and Spanish (more to come). We are also obligated to provide support in those languages, and important of all - to keep up and acquire new partners worldwide.
  • HOSTSEARCH: What is your key-success to make Bpath's service on the leading edge?
    SHAHAR: Bpath strives to satisfy two parties: its customers and its partners. In both cases, it is very easy to measure our success: Where it comes to customers, success means driving targeted traffic and increased sales. Where it comes to our partners, success means increased revenue and profit. In this field, where measuring the results is so easy and straightforward, Bpath has no alternative than providing the best service to the customers while maximizing the revenues for our partners. When I look at our portfolio of partners and at the number of our customers (50,000), I get the best approval for the satisfaction of both our partners and customers.
  • HOSTSEARCH: As a leader in private label marketing, what is the most important factor to marketing online businesses? What are the most effective marketing tools for them to be succeed on E-commerce market?
    SHAHAR: We can divide a success of an online business to two aspects. The first is driving traffic to the website and the second is converting this traffic to sales. The more targeted the traffic is, the easier it will be to convert it to sales. Bpath is focusing on the first aspect, which means providing the customers solutions for driving the most targeted traffic to their website. Being listed in the search engines puts our customers' websites right in front of prospects whom are actively searching for products and services, and that are the most convenient to convert to sales.
  • HOSTSEARCH: How do you see yourself and your company in the next 5 years?
    SHAHAR: I am not sure that I can give a wise predication for such a long period of time, but our current goal is to increase our market share in the web hosting industry and position ourselves as the leading add-ons provider for this industry, not just in the US, but worldwide.
  • HOSTSEARCH: What is the best experience for you to work for Bpath.com?
    SHAHAR: The best experience for me is to see another deal signed with another Web host or domain registrar. Any such deal immediately puts Bpath in front of all of the partner's customers, customers that will have the benefit of unleashing the full potential of their online business using our marketing services.
