October 22, 2007 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) Web hosting provider UK2 has partnered with Comodo to offer Dedicated Server customers unlimited, free SSL Certificates. The announcement is the first of its kind in the Web hosting industry.
All new and existing UK2 Dedicated Server customers can claim their free Comodo Positive SSL Certificates (worth £33 or about $70 each year) via their customer control panel. The certificates provide domain validation, 128 / 256 bit encryption and are trusted by all popular internet browsers, with at least 99.3% ubiquity. By using these certificates, UK2 Dedicated Server customers can build customer confidence in their own websites by providing assurance that data cannot be tampered with or forged and is protected during online transactions.
Were the first host to offer this on such a large scale, said UK2 CEO Ditlev Bredahl. Dedicated Hosting continues to be a very competitive market on a global level. We have created an important value-add for our customers. While this is an expensive offer for our company, we will do what it takes to stand out from the crowd and provide our customers with outstanding value for their money.
The company will allow resellers to pass along the free SSL certificates to their own customers. Resellers can choose whether to charge for the certificates or provide them free of charge.
This is an especially killer deal for resellers. They can now offer all of their end users the benefits of SSL Certificates. As a reseller, you could sell them, or give them away for free -- its your choice, said Bredahl.
UK2 also plans to provide SSL Certificate offers to their Web Hosting and E-commerce clients, along with discounted Extended Validation SSL Certificates. Details will be available in a future announcement.
