African Hosting Company Garanntor Acquires Technology Enablers Bytes Hosting
African hosting company Garanntor Nigeria (Garanntor) has acquired ‘technology enablers’ Bytes Hosting. With headquarters in Opebi, Lagos, Nigeria, Garanntor was established in 2016. The company prides itself on offering “affordable, fast, premium local data hosting services” which include Virtual Private Servers (VPS), collocation, cloud servers, web hosting, web security, cloud storage, disaster recovery and domain name registration. Financial details of its acquisition of Bytes Hosting have not been released.

Bytes Hosting, which has headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria, has been offering services for around 10 years and offers a range of services including responsive web design, website traffic generation, mobile apps development and ICT consultancy. The company is a division of Bytes & Data Systems, also in Lagos. With the acquisition Garanntor acquired 550 additional hosting accounts and 700 domain names. This means the company now caters for around 3,000 shared hosting accounts and over 4,000 domain name accounts only a year after starting operations.

“We needed to find the best home for our clients who have trusted us with their business for years,” explained Bytes Hosting’s CEO and founder, David Nkpoku. “We shopped around for a couple of months for the best hosting company that had the expertise and could provide better support and services to our clients. Garanntor came out tops with a very wide margin. I was also impressed as soon as I walked into their offices and saw their structure and world-class operations.”
