EdgeTier’s innovative approach gave it an edge in Google’s fiercely competitive award scheme.
Google’s ‘About Adopt a Startup’ is a startup mentoring scheme that aims to enable Irish startups to grow their businesses. The scheme started in 2014 and offers participants input from a range of Google’s consultants as well as information-packed workshops and lectures. After 8 weeks of input, the startups involved face a panel of judges who consider which startup has made the greatest progress. Traditionally, winners have received around €10,000 ($11,288) in advertising credit and €100,000 ($112,875) in credit for Google Cloud as an award.
“Since launching our first Adopt a Startup program in 2014, we have worked with over 130 high-potential Irish start-ups helping them scale for growth,” explained Google’s Blog. “Many have gone on to raise significant capital funding and greatly increase their employee numbers further demonstrating the vibrancy of Ireland’s startup community”.
