aPaaS Company Mendix Announces Cloud Foundry Foundation Membership
Application Platform-as-a-Service (aPaaS) company Mendix has announced its membership of the Cloud Foundry Foundation. The company, which has a presence in the United States, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and South Africa, prides itself on services that allow companies to benefit from Return on Investment (ROI) in “days, not months”. The move towards the Cloud Foundry Foundation underscores the company’s support for an open PaaS strategy and its intention for flexible and portable multi-cloud deployment for Cloud Foundry users.

The Cloud Foundry Foundation is an “independent non-profit organization” established to support the “development, promotion and adoption” of Cloud Foundry open source projects. Mendix made its support for Cloud Foundry public earlier this year, particularly its intention to integrate Cloud Foundry’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) with aPaaS. Mendix’s customers will now be able to “seamlessly integrate” with all public, private and hybrid cloud stacks that leverage Cloud Foundry technology.

“With momentum accelerating for Cloud Foundry as the industry standard, we are strengthening our commitment to the PaaS framework and open source project,” explained Mendix’s CTO, Johan den Haan. “By integrating with Cloud Foundry and contributing to its development, we continue to offer our customers and partners more options for seamless, elastic, multi-cloud deployment. This allows rapid developers to focus solely on building business apps with Mendix to better innovate and compete and rely on the flexibility and choice of an open PaaS that can automatically scale with their needs.”
