AppOrbit has announced the launch of version 2.0 of its application platform. AppOrbit, which has global headquarters in San Jose, California, United States, was established in 2014. The company’s platform “automates modernization and management of applications, their data, and security” to address the issues faced by ‘enterprise IT’, including modernization, compliance, and cloud. The AppOrbit platform can be leveraged to make new and legacy business applications and their data portable to “any modern infrastructure in minutes, without rewriting code”. This reduces IT costs and speeds up an organization’s digital transformation capabilities. Version 2.0 of the solution has a number of benefits on previous iterations.
The latest version of AppOrbit platform “helps seamlessly connect, secure, and modernize applications across heterogeneous infrastructures”. It offers new features that facilitate security, connectivity, and automated load balancing across hybrid infrastructures. The platform includes additional networking and security capabilities and puts each application in a “secure, independent Application Capsule” which provides all the elements required to “execute simple or complex application environments”. It also offers cloud-to-cloud portability and robust network security, providing a suite of solutions that manage the Application Capsules. This suite includes the ‘AppVizor’ management and orchestration platform, the ‘AppPorter’ automated modernization solution, and the ‘AppSwitch’ networking and security solution.
“With the addition of the networking and security capabilities of AppSwitch, our Application Capsule allows customers to rapidly modernize their business-critical enterprise applications to reduce expenses and improve operational efficiency,” explained AppOrbit’s CEO and Co-founder, Rahul Ravulur.
