Azure hybrid solutions provider
Atmosera has launched a new cloud migration service. Atmosera, which has headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, United States, offers a range of managed solutions including Microsoft Azure-based cloud solutions, colocation and hosted environments. It services extend to security options alongside compliance and networking solutions. Its new HIPAA/HITECH and PCI DSS compliant service is a response to cloud customers’ concerns about vendor lock-in.
Atmosera “makes it easy to migrate from one public cloud to another including AWS to Azure and AWS to a private cloud”. Built on Microsoft Azure Site Recovery, the service facilitates the migration of applications and data without the need for users to “redevelop the underlying cloud infrastructure”. As a result, if a user of a particular public cloud feels the need to change cloud provider, migration is possible with “almost no effort and can be performed while the deployment stays in full production”. The migration process is managed by Atmosera including, when required, deploying a new Azure public, private or hybrid cloud.
Atmosera engages in “careful planning” and uses the skills of a dedicated team of experts to facilitate migrations. In addition, the company’s process utilizes numerous automated elements to make transition easier. “Many companies feel trapped by their current public cloud vendor and unable to take advantage of an increasing amount of compelling alternatives,” explained the Vice President of Engineering at Atmosera, Scott Harvey. “AWS offers a rich set of options but is not always the best suited solution for certain customer needs, especially for those seeking to use a private cloud. Atmosera brings automated tools to ease the process of breaking the vendor lock-in and enable the move to another cloud type and provider.”
