Big data and cloud company
Cambridge Technology Enterprises (CTE) plans to invest in Indian start ups. CTE, whose head office is in Madhapur, Hyderabad, India, bills itself as helping “organisations seeking to realize their business potential to capture new enterprise value by leveraging the convergence of big data and the cloud”. The investments will be made through Cambridge Innovations, an entity the company established recently to provide support for “early stage entrepreneurs”. The company intends to invest in start ups that are “using big data and cloud to create transformational shift”.
Cambridge Innovations focuses on “bringing the most innovative U.S. start-ups to India and building the most innovative global companies in India”. The organization’s philosophy is that partnerships are required to support India’s start ups and its has made investments in Anthill Ventures which has made “several partnerships and investments in the Indian start-up community” including companies like Logic Roots, Ketto and Explara. Cambridge Innovations has also partnered with DMD Advocates who provide legal services to ensure companies are “globally compliant”.
"We are focused on investing in US start-ups focusing on the convergence of big data and cloud,” explained Cambridge Technology Enterprises’ Chairman, Aashish Kalra. “As Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, has recently mentioned India to be a great opportunity for the next generation entrepreneurs, we believe that with our resources and expertise, the best way to find and invest in global companies out of India is via partnerships. To get the right deal flow, we are pleased to invest in and partner with Anthill Ventures that has invested and partnered with leading venture funds and incubators across Asia."
