Brazilian web host UOL HOST
has announced the launch of Google Apps for Work services. UOL HOST, which has headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil, is owned by Universo Online. The company offers a wide range of hosting options including email marketing, cloud servers, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange services, alongside cloud storage and cloud balancer options. It caters primarily to Brazil’s SMB market and by adding Google Apps for Work as an option the company “reiterates its commitment to provide the best services to SMB market”.
Google Apps for Work is a productivity, collaboration and communication suite that competes with the likes of Office 365. It provides a similar range of options to Office 365, allowing users to create documents, spreadsheets and presentations. The suite offers video-conferencing through Google Hangouts as well as the world famous Gmail email solution. Through its partnership with Google, UOL HOST will make Google Apps for Work more accessible to the Brazilian market. Brazilian users will be able to purchase Google Apps for Work using local credit cards or make installments using local bank transfer. Two subscription plans will be available to users - Google Apps for Work ‘basic’ will cost R$24.90 ($7.05) per month while an ‘unlimited’ option will cost R$69.90 ($19.79) per month.
"The greatest advantage of Google Apps for Work is to join, in a single environment, email, calendar, chat, video-conference, virtual disk and other tools to increase your business productivity,” explained UOL HOST’s Product Manager, Roosevelt Nascimento. “The product was developed for mobile devices and is one of the solutions in the market for collaboration and file sharing.
