Brian Stevens has joined Google as the head of Google Cloud. Mr. Stevens, formerly a Chief Technical Officer at Red Hat, joins Google as Vice President of Google Cloud Platforms. He resigned his position in August this year and his role at Red Hat is being filled on a temporary basis by the company's President of Products and Technologies, Paul Comier.
At Google, Mr. Stevens will utilize his Unix and Linux expertise and his experience in the areas of virtualization and cloud computing, storage management and enterprise architecture to help Google with activity related to the corporation's Google Compute Engine, Google App Engine, and cloud storage options.
Mr. Stevens is on the board of the OpenStack Foundation. He is also on the boards of Pentaho, an open-source analytics solutions provider, DataGravity, a cloud storage company, and the IEEE Computer Society. He hold qualifications from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of New Hampshire.
