British web host
Host Surf UK has introduced US-based packages and services. The Rotherham, South Yorkshire-based company, whose hosting options include shared, reseller, and WordPress hosting, made the move to ensure customers had to option to choose hosting locations so they might “access and manage their data” as quickly as possible.
Host Surf UK’s existing customers will be given the option to move their websites from the UK to the US without additional charge, while new customers will be given both options at sign up. Customers can also add an additional location at 50% off the normal price. The company will continue to offer the same range of services through the PhoenixNAP data center in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
PhoenixNAP is one of the safest data centers in the United States. Because of its location the center is essentially safeguarded against natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and earthquakes.
“With the United States already hosting 42% of the top million websites, we believe the US to be the perfect choice for us,” explained Louis Marcus, the company’s CEO. “Finding a data center, however, was a more challenging task. Compared to the UK, the US has a wider variety of natural disasters to worry about. In the end we choose, PhoenixNAP. The US is just the first step in our plan to roll out new locations.”
The company is currently looking at Amsterdam in the Netherlands as their next possible point of expansion and is also embarking on consultations with customers on where they should provide hosting services from in the future.
