Bruce Roberts has joined domain-name research and monitoring company
DomainTools as VP of Technology. The move comes alongside Jeff Day being added as VP of Marketing and Product.
DomainTools' services include a searchable database of domain name registration and hosting data that allows users to "monitor, protect and investigate online fraud, cyber crimes and brand fraud". The company offers a range of site brands, including DailyChanges.com, Screenshots.com and ReverseMX.com. Its DomainTools.com site provides "millions of historical domain name records" from Whois and DNS information.
Mr. Roberts and Mr. Day bring substantial experience to DomainTools as the company invests to cater for demand from clients interested in cyber security and brand protection. DomainTools’ Enterprise business grew 300% over the last year in a market that research company IDC believes generates $28 billion annually and is growing at a rate of over 7% per year.
Bruce Roberts has 20 years experience in engineering and systems development and a Ph.D. in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University. His last position was with Rouxbe Global Food Group where he was Chief Technology Officer. He has also had roles at HP and Opsware and was involved in developing ESPN.com and NBA.com.
Jeff Day founded cloud-based big data analytics company Enodo Software where he was CEO. With 15 years experience his previous positions included working for Apptio, HP, PolyServe, Sun Microsystems and Intel.
