C I Host, a Web hosting and data center operations company, today extended to budding film makers an offer for free Web hosting and streaming video of film clips to promote their independent films. Christopher Faulkner, CEO of C I Host, said, “To get distribution for a film, there has to be buzz and Internet presence is a major component. Because C I Host has mega-capacity, this makes sense as we explore more ways to support the arts and help tomorrow’s stars.”
To be eligible for C I Host’s free hosting offer, the first-time filmmaker’s work must have been accepted for competition in one of the top U.S. independent film festivals. C I Host will award one year of free hosting to qualifying applicants from each film festival on the list. The films must have been accepted for competition during 2005. Traditional film and digital “films” are eligible for the C I Host promotion, if allowed by the respective festivals.
